For the last few weeks, I’ve been working my way through Siler’s non-fiction 300 page book documenting the story of slavery in San Francisco’s Chinatown and the women who fought it.
Dressember in July has been a fun way to talk about how I wear dresses all December long. It’s also been a lot of fun to wear dresses (and skirts) all month with sandals and cute shoes!
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been reading A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah a powerful memoir of a boy soldier from Sierra Leone in the 1990’s. Not that long ago, and insanely this kind of human trafficking is still happening. Children brainwashed into fighting wars that tore up their own families.
I believe in a world without slavery. I believe in a world where dignity is not an afterthought and where every individual believes the truth that they are irreplaceable and not disposable.
