Well, it seems I totally flaked and forgot to update you on the month of July. Although if you’ve been reading along, you know a huge portion of this month was devoted to a family vacation, which was a much-needed break from reality.
I’ve been eagerly waiting for this since moving back to Colorado. A week in the mountains with my family. With my bags packed and I was excited for a week without cell service and avoiding my computer at all costs.
Well, the 2018 Shelby’s family come to Colorado for vacation was a hit. We had fun to say the least. The closest to a family vacation with all of us before this one was all of us in Vegas a few years ago for my dad’s birthday.
One of the best investments I ever made in hiking gear, besides good hiking boots, was a backpack for my dog. Asher has a Ruffwear Approach Pack, at least I think that is what he has it’s an older model.

For my second Impact Day, I chose to clean up a park while on my trip to Texas this month. I was visiting family & my grandmother in Granbury, Texas and picked out a favorite park my sister and I used to frequent as children.
This is my first season as a Wild Keeper and I couldn’t be more excited! Initially I planned to join the group clean up at Chatfield State Park in Littleton, but as Impact day grew closer I realized I didn’t want to be driving and going that far in a potential snow storm.
Well, after being here for 2 months we finally got a legit snow day, even if it was just one day.
Tis the season to reminisce on all the year has brought and taken. This is the first thanksgiving Travis and I are spending in Colorado since 2013, it seems impossible that we are here again.
