I’m so excited and half crazy for planning the Colorado Springs version of the Dressember 5K fun run/walk! I’ve never planned a run in my life, although I’ve run a few so I have some idea of things that need to happen the day of to make the whole thing run smoothly.
You can support me running by making a DONATION, all money will be going to Dressember & CAST LA. Both of which support the rescue and restoration of individuals in human trafficking specifically in the Los Angeles area.
If you don’t remember, I wore a dress EVERYDAY in December to raise money and awareness for Dressember. Women and girls are most often exploited and sold into human trafficking, Dressember is our way of saying our femininity does not make us fragile or weak. We can do anything in a dress.
The course I created is mostly flat, you’re welcome, but is slightly longer than 3.1. Which I’d rather have slightly longer over hilly and since I live in a hilly portion of Colorado Springs, you’re just going to have to trust me that longer is better.
The fun run/walk, it’s not a race because I’m not planning on timing it, begins in the parking lot at Beth-El Mennonite Church, 4625 Ranch Dr 80918.
Kids, dogs on leashes, strollers are all welcome! I’m planning to bring my pup with me and I’m working on having a water station available at the Start/Finish line.
Bib pick up will be from 1-1:30
Fun run/walk will begin at 1:30
No awards will be given but everyone is encouraged to wear a dress or a tie, because you can do anything in a dress. Including running a 5k!
