Currently Reading February 2019

Although I am trying to incorporate more fiction into my reading repertoire this month is a lot of non-fiction memoirs that make my heart happy.

Becoming by Michelle Obama on audio- I immediately requested this one on audio when it came out, I’m happy that I got it so quickly. I think everyone listening is getting through it faster than the allotted time for the loan. Personally, I love books read by their authors they are so much more personal and the inflections make a difference. Honestly, I am learning a lot about former First Lady Michelle Obama. I don’t know yet if I’ll write a ‘Finished Reading’ post this one is purely a self-indulgent read. From an audiobook perspective, I’ve found it easy to get lost in her voice and visualize her experiences.

Hillbilly Elegy by JD Vance– I picked this up a few weekends ago when I was out with friends. We were supposed to go ice skating but because the weather was fantastic, the rink was literally melting and was closed. We walked around downtown Colorado Springs instead of accepting defeat. I’ve heard great things about this book for several authors and friends, so when you find it at a used bookstore for less than you were going to spend going ice skating you buy it and savor it slowly.

Taste & See by Margaret Feinburg ebook – reviewing for Booklook Bloggers, I’m not a foodie per say although I do love to eat. I take book recommendations from my favorite authors seriously and when I saw my favorite foodie author Shauna Niequest recommend this one, I was all over it! Review coming later this month.

What are you reading right now? Any good fiction I should pick up next?
