If you enjoy grammar, collective terms, wildlife, and watercolor images then this little gem is for you! Matt Sewell’s book, A Charm of Goldfinches and other wild gatherings is a beautiful collection of animals, birds, and wildlife from all walks of life around the world in the air and the sea.
From the informative descriptions explaining the collective terms to the beautiful imagery this book is perfect for the inquisitive naturalist. Organized by Land, Air, and Water, learn why a group of Zebras are called a dazzle.
And I don’t ever want to find a bed of scorpions or a scorpion in my bed. Some are too obvious and whimsical like a flutter of butterflies, and a caravan of camels. While some are a little disappointing, a plague of rats and a band of coyotes- which reminds me of a band of outlaws from all those westerns I used to watch with my grandfather.
