When I lived in Colorado, my place of worship was hiking alone in the mountains. Mostly alone because Travis worked full time and I had whole days to myself (and Asher). I would have told you that was where I went to be alone, to pray and to cry out. Reading through the Psalms during that time only confirmed my suspicions of where I frequently found God.
Earth Psalms by Francine Rivers is a weekly devotional, looking at various aspects of nature and how they imitate aspects of God. Each reflection is associated with a Psalm and has a reflection, application and prayer. They are short, easy to read and the photography is beautiful.
I’m a little biased as the opening page is a gorgeous photo of redwoods, which I personally find to be beautiful examples of standing firm and reaching for your dreams. These beautiful trees call us every year and we are never disappointed even when it takes 6 hours to reach them.
This devotional is the perfect gift for that someone that loves to be in and among nature, worshiping while hiking or simply sitting on the top of a mountain.
