Food Confession

We have been very good at following our Always Hungry lifestyle for the last month. We have graduated from Phase 1 and have been in Phase 2 for the last 3 weeks. Since graduating, we care now having oatmeal, quinoa, barley and rice in small portions, as well as small amounts of honey and maple syrup.

I am enjoying the warm oatmeal on cool mornings. But I have a confession. Although I have been really good, I really really really miss bread. Most people get over things like this over time but I find myself craving bread, bagels, muffins, cereal and basically every other thing the bakery provides. I have been so good, went to a work event and had Frittata over pastries and had soup at Panera instead of a sandwich. I also desperately miss baked potatoes…OMG my mouth is watering just talking about it!

I have learned I can have a latte macchiato at Starbucks, espresso and foamed milk. I can’t have anything else there…I’m weary of salads because most dressings have sugar and basically everything else is baked.

At home I have coffee with honey or maple syrup and whole milk, when I need something sweet, I reach for 72% dark chocolate, raspberries or an apple.

But the confession here is I’m not cured of my cravings. I would go have a Panera sandwich in a heart beat if it was ok. Despite my husband not believing my good choices, I have for the most part stuck with it…even though I am very very tempted.

  1. I couldn’t do that. I would definitely give in and have a sandwich or pastry. Go you for not giving in and sticking with it, well done!
