It’s that time of the week already! Wear it Wednesday were, me and Kayla from The Creative Jayne talk about fashion and styling yourself with what you have!! Today we are styling chambray, which if you didn’t know, is a plain weave fabric woven with a colored yarn in the warp and a white yarn in the weft, similar to denim but woven in a twill construction making it cool and easy to wear on hot days.
For this first look, I paired my chambray shirt that I bought 3 years ago at Old Navy with my Just Black skinny jeans from Stitch Fix, seriously the best jeans EVER, with my colorful flats (from target)and my 31 Bits layered beaded necklace! I love this look on cool spring and fall days, and if it chillier than you thought a boyfriend cardigan looks great layered on top!
For my second chambray look I used my chambray shirt as a layering piece over my Olive & Oak maxi dress from Stitch Fix. Note: My staging skills for this Maxi have to be the worst ever, so don’t hate! But this is my I wish it was summer/can’t summer stay a little longer look, finished with scrappy flat sandals and my 31 Bits paper bead bracelet!
Now, to change it up! I have this great chambray A line skirt, also from Old Navy paired with a graphic tee, Toms and my layered necklace! Perfect for concert in the park or a picnic with friends this summer!
Next up is the chambray skirt with a tight fitting printed tank, wedges and bracelet. I like this for backyard bbqing and going to the pool or lake, it’s a preppier take on the previous look!
And surprise I managed to pull together another great look! This is a super preppy/classic way to wear chambray in the fall perfect for back to school, add your shirt under a classic black dress and add a statement necklace with heels to round out the look!
