A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. -John 13:34-35 ESV
[God] executes justice for the fatherless and the widow and He loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were once sojourners… -Deuteronomy 10:18-19a ESV
On this final Sunday of Advent, we know our waiting has not been in vain. For love is about to arrive. Love that looked past class, income, gender, occupation, and worldly things came and has accepted all of us for what we are. Sinners and beautiful creations by God. He loves each of us and wants us to know Him. He is about to arrive full of love for this world.
During this last week of Advent I ask that you plan to show love year round to your community. Love the sojourners, widows, orphans, the lost, homeless and the helpless. Your act of love reveals His Presence to them.
Go now and love one another.
